Bachman-Turner Overdrive

Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO) is a Canadian rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba, formed by guitarist Randy Bachman after he left The Guess Who. Determined to prove himself after his split from that band, Bachman recruited his brothers Robbie and Tim, along with bassist C.F. Turner, to build a blue-collar, riff-driven hard rock outfit that became one of the defining Canadian rock exports of the 1970s.

The band's sound is built on chugging guitar riffs, straightforward arena-rock songwriting, and working-class themes, epitomized by their signature hits «Takin' Care of Business» and «You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet» — the latter featuring Randy Bachman's famous stuttered vocal delivery, reportedly inspired by his brother's stutter. Their breakthrough album, «Bachman-Turner Overdrive II», turned the group from a modest Canadian act into an international arena-rock success.

Other staples like «Let It Ride», «Roll On Down the Highway», and «Hey You» reinforced their reputation as reliable hitmakers throughout the mid-1970s, and their catalog remains a fixture of classic rock radio, celebrated for its no-frills, hook-heavy approach to hard rock.
