About the artist
AURORA, born Aurora Aksnes in 1996 in Stavanger, Norway, is a self-taught pianist and singer-songwriter who emerged in the early 2010s with an ethereal, folk-influenced sound that later evolved into a more electronic and pop-oriented style. Signed to Decca and Glassnote Records, she released the «Running with the Wolves» EP in 2015 before her debut album «All My Demons Greeting Me As A Friend» (2016) established her distinctive blend of nature-inspired imagery, otherworldly vocals, and atmospheric production.
Her sound is characterized by soaring, distinctive vocal delivery, sparse-to-lush dynamic shifts, and lyrics that often draw on themes of nature, identity, and emotional vulnerability. She gained wider international recognition after lending her voice to the Disney film «Frozen 2» and featuring on the multi-platinum single «Into the Unknown», which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
Across albums like the two-part «Infections of a Different Kind» / «A Different Kind of Human» project and «The Gods We Can Touch», inspired by Greek mythology, AURORA has continued to explore mythological and introspective themes while building a devoted global fanbase drawn to her singular artistic voice and immersive live performances.
