Aurelio Voltaire

Aurelio Voltaire is a Cuban-American singer-songwriter, illustrator and performer known for a theatrical blend of dark cabaret, gothic rock and comic macabre songwriting. Born in Cuba and raised in the United States, he built a cult following through darkly humorous murder ballads and songs steeped in horror and Halloween imagery, delivered with a wit that keeps the material as playful as it is macabre.

He reached a much wider audience beyond his existing fanbase when his songs «Brains!» and «Land of the Dead» were featured on the Cartoon Network series The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, introducing his sound to a younger generation. Alongside music, Voltaire has worked as a comic book creator, animator and toy designer, and his live shows are known for their storytelling, audience interaction and offbeat humor as much as for the songs themselves.

Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has released a large catalogue of albums, mostly self-released after early records through Projekt Records, cultivating a devoted, tight-knit fanbase in the goth and horror-punk scenes.
