Asking Alexandria

Asking Alexandria are an English metalcore band formed in York, North Yorkshire, in 2008. Built around founding guitarist Ben Bruce, the band became one of the defining acts of the post-hardcore and metalcore wave of the late 2000s and early 2010s, blending screamed and clean vocals, electronic textures and heavy breakdowns into an accessible, radio-friendly take on the genre often labeled electronicore in its early years.

The band's lineup has shifted considerably over the years, most notably around frontman Danny Worsnop, who departed in 2015 to pursue other projects and was replaced by Denis Stoff before returning to the fold in 2016. Despite the turnover, the band's core sound has remained rooted in a fusion of metalcore aggression with hooky, arena-ready choruses, and the members have often cited an affection for 1980s rock as a recurring influence on their songwriting and cover choices.

Asking Alexandria helped popularize metalcore for a mainstream rock audience, touring extensively across the world and building a large, dedicated fanbase. Their catalogue spans anthemic singles and heavier deep cuts, reflecting a band that has continually balanced its aggressive roots with more melodic, mainstream rock ambitions.
