Archive

Archive are an English band formed in London in 1994, initially rooted in trip hop and electronic music before evolving into a sprawling, cinematic blend of post-rock, progressive rock and electronica. Founding members Danny Griffiths and Darius Keeler built the group's core sound, and over the years Archive has cycled through a rotating cast of vocalists and musicians, giving successive albums distinct character while keeping the band's signature mood of slow-building tension and release intact.

Despite limited mainstream recognition in Britain, Archive built a devoted following across continental Europe, particularly in France, Poland and Russia, through extensive touring and a catalogue of albums released steadily since the mid-1990s. Their music is marked by long, atmospheric compositions, layered guitars and electronics, and a dynamic range that swings between hushed, melancholic passages and explosive, guitar-driven climaxes.
