Amon Amarth

Amon Amarth is a Swedish melodic death metal band formed in Tumba, near Stockholm, in 1992, taking their name from a location in J.R.R. Tolkien's legendarium meaning Mount Doom. Since their earliest releases the band has built a reputation as one of the most consistent and commercially successful acts in the melodic death metal scene, known for pairing crushing, groove-laden riffing with anthemic choruses and Johan Hegg's distinctive guttural vocals.
