About the artist
Alice Cooper is the stage persona of Vincent Furnier, an American singer and one of the pioneering figures of shock rock. Known as the Godfather of Shock Rock, he built a theatrical brand of hard rock combining horror-movie imagery, elaborate stage props such as guillotines and snakes, and a dark, satirical sense of humor that shocked and fascinated audiences from the early 1970s onward.
His music blends hard rock, glam and pop hooks, ranging from anthemic tracks to darker, more theatrical concept pieces. Songs like «Poison» and «Feed My Frankenstein» showcase his knack for combining catchy hooks with menacing, horror-tinged imagery, while ballads such as «Only Women Bleed» revealed a softer, more dramatic songwriting side.
Cooper worked with producer Bob Ezrin on many of his most enduring records, and his influence extends across generations of hard rock, metal and goth-adjacent artists who adopted his blend of spectacle and songcraft.
