Adept

Adept are a Swedish metalcore band formed in 2004 in Trosa, a small coastal town south of Stockholm. The band built its reputation as part of the wave of Scandinavian metalcore acts that blended aggressive, breakdown-driven riffing with melodic hardcore energy, and they developed a reputation as a formidable live act across Europe. Their lineup has centered on vocalist Robert Ljung alongside guitarists and a rhythm section that has evolved somewhat over the years, giving the band a consistent creative core even as their sound shifted.

Across releases such as «Another Year of Disaster», «Death Dealers», «Silence the World» and «Sleepless», Adept moved from a rawer post-hardcore-influenced attack toward a heavier, more modern metalcore sound with cleaner hooks and darker atmosphere. Song titles like «Black Veins», «Grow Up, Peter Pan!» and «Dark Clouds» reflect the band's tendency toward blunt, emotionally direct lyricism paired with dynamic shifts between melodic choruses and crushing breakdowns.
