Abandoned Pools is the alternative rock project of American musician Tommy Walter, born in Thousand Oaks, California. Before launching the band, Walter was a founding member and bassist of Eels, contributing to the group's early sound before departing to pursue his own material. Abandoned Pools blends melodic alt-rock songwriting with electronic textures and layered production, giving the project a hooky yet atmospheric character distinct from more guitar-centric rock of its era.

The band gained wider visibility through its association with the animated series «Clone High», for which Walter contributed the theme song, introducing Abandoned Pools to audiences beyond traditional rock radio. Tracks such as «The Remedy» and «Fluorescein» showcase the project's signature mix of driving rhythms, synth-inflected arrangements, and introspective lyricism, helping the band find a niche in the early-2000s alternative and modern-rock scene.
