5’nizza

5'nizza is a Ukrainian musical duo formed in 2000 in Kharkiv by guitarist Sergey Babkin and vocalist Andrey Zaporozhets. Blending hip-hop, reggae, and funk influences, the pair built a sound around laid-back grooves, sung and rapped vocals, and live beatboxing, which set them apart from other Russian-language acts of the early 2000s.

Their early bootlegged demo, featuring a cover of Bob Marley's «Jammin'», spread widely across Russian-speaking countries before their official self-titled debut arrived via Grand Records in 2003, dramatically expanding their audience. The follow-up album, «O5», released in 2005, pushed toward more elaborate arrangements incorporating electric guitar and Rhodes piano, though it did not replicate the debut's commercial success.

The duo disbanded in 2007, with material from unfinished sessions later reworked into the debut of Zaporozhets' subsequent project, SunSay. 5'nizza reunited in 2015 for a tour and new recordings, reaffirming their status as one of the defining acts of early-2000s Ukrainian and Russian-language reggae-hip-hop fusion, remembered for tracks like «Соломія» and their easygoing, genre-blending style.
