Би-2 (Bi-2)

Bi-2 (Би-2) is a Russian-language alternative rock band founded in 1988 in Bobruisk, Belarus, later relocating and building its career primarily in Russia. The band's founding and enduring core is formed by Shura (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Lyova (lead vocals, guitar), around whom a stable lineup of instrumentalists developed over the years. Bi-2 became one of the most recognizable names in post-Soviet alternative and art rock, known for atmospheric, melancholic songwriting layered with theatrical, poetic lyrics.

The band's sound draws on Britpop, gothic rock, and new wave influences, filtered through a distinctly Russian lyrical sensibility that balances irony with emotional weight. Songs such as «Полковнику никто не пишет», featured in the film Brother 2, and «Моё сердце» brought them mainstream recognition beyond the rock underground, while «Чёрное солнце» and «Компромисс» became staples of their live shows and radio rotation.

Across a discography spanning from Бесполая и грустная любовь (1998) to Аллилуйя (2022), Bi-2 has maintained a consistent evolution while staying rooted in melodic, guitar-driven alternative rock.
