10cc

10cc are an English art rock band formed in Stockport in 1972 by Graham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, four musicians who had already been writing and recording together for several years before adopting the name. Known for their wit, studio ingenuity and genre-hopping songwriting, they became one of the defining British pop-rock acts of the 1970s.

The band's sound combined sophisticated pop hooks with art-rock experimentation, satire and unconventional production techniques, most famously on the tape-loop ballad «I'm Not in Love», one of the era's most innovative studio productions. Other hits like «Dreadlock Holiday», «The Things We Do for Love» and «Rubber Bullets» showcased their range, moving between reggae-tinged pop, glam-adjacent rock and wry storytelling.

In 1976, Godley and Creme left to pursue their own experimental projects, while Gouldman and Stewart continued under the 10cc name into the following decade. The band's blend of melodic craft and studio experimentation left a lasting mark on British pop music and influenced later generations of art-pop and studio-based songwriters.
