«Welcome to the Jungle» abre el álbum debut de Guns N' Roses de 1987, Appetite for Destruction. Escrita principalmente por Axl Rose con aportes de la banda, se basa en las primeras experiencias de los integrantes al llegar a Los Ángeles desde ciudades más pequeñas, usando la ciudad —su industria musical, drogas, sexo y lucha— como metáfora de una jungla urbana depredadora que devora a los recién llegados.
