U2 es una banda de rock irlandesa formada en Dublín a finales de los años setenta, integrada por Bono (voz), The Edge (guitarra, teclados), Adam Clayton (bajo) y Larry Mullen Jr. (batería). Surgidos de la escena post-punk, desarrollaron un sonido definido por las texturas de guitarra brillantes y llenas de efectos de The Edge y la voz emotiva y elevada de Bono, con letras que mezclan búsqueda espiritual, reflexión personal y comentario social. Álbumes como War y The Unforgettable Fire los consolidaron como una gran banda de estadios a principios de los ochenta.
