U2 é uma banda de rock irlandesa formada em Dublin no final dos anos 1970, composta por Bono (vocais), The Edge (guitarra, teclados), Adam Clayton (baixo) e Larry Mullen Jr. (bateria). Surgidos da cena post-punk, desenvolveram um som marcado pelas texturas brilhantes e cheias de efeitos da guitarra de The Edge e pelo vocal emotivo e elevado de Bono, com letras que misturam busca espiritual, reflexão pessoal e crítica social. Álbuns como War e The Unforgettable Fire os consolidaram como uma grande banda de estádios no início dos anos 1980.
