Sobre el artista
Neil Young es un cantautor y guitarrista canadiense cuya carrera se remonta a mediados de los años sesenta, cuando cofundó en Los Ángeles la banda de folk-rock Buffalo Springfield junto a Stephen Stills y Richie Furay. Poco después inició una prolífica carrera en solitario, publicando su álbum debut homónimo en 1968 y una serie de discos emblemáticos que fusionaban folk, country y rock duro. También fue miembro clave de Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, aportando su característica voz de tenor y su aguda escritura de canciones a sus armonías vocales.
Young es conocido por alternar sin cesar entre la introspección acústica delicada y el rock eléctrico crudo y distorsionado, a menudo junto a su banda de acompañamiento de siempre, Crazy Horse. Canciones como «Heart of Gold», «Old Man» y «Harvest Moon» muestran su lado tierno y confesional, mientras que «My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)», «Southern Man» y «Rockin in the Free World» revelan a un rockero más duro y politizado, cuya influencia en el grunge le valió el apodo de padrino del grunge.
