Sobre el artista
Marilyn Manson, nacido Brian Warner, es un músico estadounidense y líder de la banda que lleva su nombre artístico, formado por la combinación de Marilyn Monroe y Charles Manson, como comentario sobre la naturaleza fabricada de la cultura de la celebridad. Surgida de la escena shock-rock de Florida a finales de los años ochenta, la banda se ganó una reputación por sus imágenes provocadoras, espectáculos en vivo teatrales y letras que generaron pánico moral en los medios mainstream durante los años noventa.
El gran éxito llegó con Antichrist Superstar (1996), seguido de Mechanical Animals (1998), que llevó el sonido hacia un rock industrial con influencias glam. Manson se convirtió en una de las figuras más reconocibles y controvertidas del rock, conocido por temas como «The Beautiful People», «The Dope Show» y «This Is the New Shit», así como por su versión de «Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)», que lo dio a conocer a un público mucho más amplio.
