Željko Joksimović

Željko Joksimović is a Serbian singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist who has been one of the most prominent figures in Balkan popular music since the 1990s. Fluent in several languages and proficient on numerous instruments including accordion, piano, guitar, and drums, he built a reputation as a complete musician who writes, composes, and often produces his own material as well as songs for other artists.

His music blends mainstream pop sensibilities with electronic production and strong melodic traditions drawn from Balkan and Serbian folk music, giving his songs an orchestral, emotionally rich quality that has made him a consistent hitmaker across the former Yugoslav region. He gained wide international recognition through Eurovision, representing Serbia and Montenegro with the song «Lane moje», which placed second in 2004, and later returning as a composer and performer for the contest in subsequent years.

Over a long career, Joksimović has released numerous albums and singles that have become staples of Serbian and regional pop, and he remains a well-known composer, arranger, and television personality in the Balkans, respected both for his vocal performances and his behind-the-scenes work writing hits for other singers.
