YUQI (宋雨琦)

Song Yu-qi, known professionally as YUQI, is a Chinese singer, dancer, and rapper based in South Korea, born in Beijing. After training for four years under Cube Entertainment, she debuted on May 2, 2018, as a member of the K-pop girl group (G)I-DLE with the album I Am. Within the group, she stands out for her distinctively deep, husky vocal tone, often compared to fellow K-pop artists like MAMAMOO's Moonbyul, and has contributed as a co-writer on several of (G)I-DLE's hit tracks.

YUQI expanded into a solo career with her English-language single album A Page, released May 13, 2021, before making her mainstream Korean solo debut with the album YUQ1 on April 23, 2024, featuring songs such as «Giant» and «Freak». Her solo work spans pop, rock, and R&B textures, showcasing a versatility beyond her group's more aggressive, hip-hop-leaning sound.

Beyond her own releases, YUQI has lent her voice to collaborations with artists including YENA and Alan Walker, and has contributed original soundtrack songs for popular dramas and webtoons, further extending her reach across the Korean entertainment industry as both a group member and an increasingly independent solo artist.
