Wonder Girls

Wonder Girls were a South Korean girl group formed in 2007 under JYP Entertainment, one of the country's leading pop labels. Over their decade-long career the lineup evolved, with members including Yubin, Sunmi, Yeeun (HA:TFELT), Hyerim, and earlier members Sunye, Sohee, and Hyuna who departed at various points, reflecting the group's several distinct eras.

The group is best known for its retro-influenced dance-pop sound, drawing on 1960s-80s pop and soul textures reworked with modern production — a style showcased on hits like «Tell Me», «Nobody», and «So Hot». «Nobody» became a landmark moment for K-pop internationally: its English-language version made Wonder Girls the first Korean act to chart on the US Billboard Hot 100, following an opening slot on the Jonas Brothers' World Tour in 2009. Their sound blended catchy, hook-driven pop melodies with polished choreography central to the JYP idol-group formula.

Across three studio albums — «The Wonder Years», «Wonder World», and «Reboot» — the group also pursued releases in Chinese and Japanese markets, expanding their reach across Asia while maintaining a foothold in the US. Wonder Girls disbanded in 2017, but their early crossover success is widely credited with helping pave the way for K-pop's later global expansion.
