Wet

Wet is an American indie pop and electro R&B duo from Brooklyn, New York, formed by singer Kelly Zutrau and producer Joe Valle. The pair began writing music together in the early 2010s, initially as a trio with guitarist Marty Sulkow, who left the project around 2017, after which Wet continued as a duo. Their sound blends hushed, emotionally raw vocals with minimalist R&B-inflected production, drawing comparisons to acts working at the intersection of indie pop and contemporary R&B.

The group built a following with early singles and EPs before signing to a major label, gaining wider attention for songs such as «Deadwater» and «Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl». Their music is known for its intimate, confessional songwriting, often exploring heartbreak and vulnerability over spare, atmospheric arrangements.

Over several albums, Wet has continued to refine a sound that sits between bedroom pop intimacy and polished production, with tracks like «The Middle» and «You’re the Best» showcasing Zutrau’s distinctive vocal delivery alongside Valle’s production work.
