Vitas, born Vitaliy Vladasovich Grachev, is a Latvian-born singer who performs mainly in Russian and became one of the most talked-about post-Soviet pop phenomena of the early 2000s. He is celebrated for an extraordinary vocal range spanning several octaves, including a distinctive falsetto and whistle register that became his trademark. His breakout track «7 элемент» (7th Element), paired with striking, theatrical music videos, made him a viral sensation years before the term existed, and the song later resurfaced as an internet meme and unexpectedly found a large new fanbase in Brazil around 2017.
