Vitaa

Vitaa, born Charlotte Bendaoud on 14 March 1983 in Mulhouse, France, is a French singer-songwriter who rose to prominence in the mid-2000s French urban pop scene. She first drew attention through collaborations with rap acts such as Mafia K'1 Fry, Rohff, Nessbeal and Sinik, but it was her guest feature on Diam's track «Confessions nocturnes» that brought her to a mainstream audience. Signed to Motown France, she released her debut album À fleur de toi in 2007, driven by hits like «Ma sœur» and the title track, and the record went on to sell hundreds of thousands of copies.

Her sound blends pop songwriting with R&B phrasing and occasional rap-inflected features, giving her music a soulful, emotionally direct quality that resonated widely in France. A second album, Celle que je vois, followed in 2009 with a more modest reception, and in 2010 she opened several French dates of Rihanna's Last Girl on Earth Tour. Her third album, Ici et maintenant, arrived in 2013 led by the duet «Game Over» with Gims, becoming one of her signature songs.

Across her catalogue, Vitaa has built a reputation for heartfelt, confessional lyrics and a distinctive smoky vocal tone, collaborating with a wide range of French rap and pop artists over the years. Songs like «Avant toi» and «Ça les dérange» further cemented her as one of the more consistent voices linking French rap and pop.
