Ultimo

Ultimo is the stage name of Niccolò Moriconi, an Italian singer-songwriter born in Rome on 27 January 1996. He began classical training at Rome's Santa Cecilia conservatory as a child and started writing his own songs as a teenager, developing a style that fuses pop songwriting with rap-influenced cadences and rock instrumentation.

He first drew wider attention in 2016 after winning a talent contest for emerging Italian hip-hop artists organized by the label Honiro, which led to a collaboration and the single «Chiave» in 2017. His debut album, «Pianeti», followed in October of that year, establishing his emotionally direct, piano-driven sound; songs like the title track and «Sogni appesi» showcased the intimate, confessional songwriting that became his signature.

Ultimo's breakthrough into the Italian mainstream came through the Sanremo Music Festival: he won the Sanremo Giovani category in 2018 with «Il ballo delle incertezze» and returned the following year to place second in the main competition with «I Tuoi Particolari». These appearances established him as one of the most popular young cantautori in Italy, admired for blending the country's singer-songwriter tradition with contemporary pop and rock arrangements in songs such as «Racconterò di te» and «Ti dedico il silenzio».
