Tracy Chapman

Tracy Chapman is an American singer-songwriter whose spare, acoustic folk sound and deeply socially conscious lyrics made her one of the defining voices of late-1980s music. Her self-titled debut album, released in 1988, was an immediate critical and commercial success, propelled by the single «Fast Car», a song that has remained a defining part of her legacy and reached new audiences decades later through cover versions.
