Tommy Lee Sparta

Tommy Lee Sparta, born Leroy «Junior» Russell on November 4, 1987, is a dancehall artist from Montego Bay, Jamaica, originally known simply as Tommy Lee. He emerged in the early 2010s within the gully-side of Jamaica's Gully/Gaza street rivalry, developing a dark, gothic-tinged persona and sound that set him apart from mainstream dancehall.

His music is characterized by a raspy, aggressive delivery and lyrical themes drawing on horror and occult imagery, earning him a reputation as one of dancehall's most distinctive and divisive voices. Songs like «Psycho» and «Demon Girl» exemplify this eerie, unconventional style, while tracks such as «Blessings» and «Redemption Song» show a more reflective, spiritually-toned side of his catalogue. He later added «Sparta» to his stage name, marking an evolution in his artistic identity.

Despite facing legal setbacks that interrupted his career, Sparta has remained an influential figure in dancehall, known for pushing the genre's imagery and tone into darker, more theatrical territory.
