The Script

The Script are an Irish pop-rock band from Dublin, currently comprising lead singer Danny O'Donoghue and drummer Glen Power. The band built their sound at the intersection of pop, rock, hip-hop, and soul, crafting emotionally direct anthems that blend heartfelt songwriting with radio-friendly hooks. Their breakthrough came with the self-titled debut album The Script, which produced hits like «The Man Who Can't Be Moved» and «Breakeven», songs that established their signature style of turning personal heartbreak into widely relatable pop-rock.

Over the following decade, the band continued to refine that formula across a string of successful albums, delivering standout tracks such as «For the First Time», «Six Degrees of Separation», «Superheroes», and «Hall of Fame», the latter a collaboration with will.i.am that became one of their biggest global hits and a staple at sporting events worldwide. Their music consistently pairs anthemic, uplifting choruses with lyrics grounded in struggle, resilience, and self-belief.

Founding member and guitarist Mark Sheehan, who was central to the band's sound and songwriting from its earliest days, passed away in April 2023 following a brief illness, a significant loss for the group's history. Despite this, O'Donoghue and Power have continued the band's legacy, with The Script remaining one of Ireland's most commercially successful pop-rock exports of the 2000s and 2010s.
