The Pussycat Dolls

The Pussycat Dolls are an American girl group founded by choreographer and entrepreneur Robin Antin, originally as a burlesque dance troupe in Los Angeles before evolving into a recording act. Signed to Interscope Records in the early 2000s, the group's classic lineup featured Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, Kimberly Wyatt, and Kaya Jones, blending sultry choreography, glossy pop-R&B production, and a strong visual identity rooted in their burlesque origins.

Their 2005 debut album, PCD, turned them into one of the defining girl groups of the decade, powered by singles like «Don't Cha», «Stickwitu», and «Buttons», with «Don't Cha» becoming one of the best-selling girl group singles of all time and «Stickwitu» earning a Grammy nomination. After Bachar's departure, the group released Doll Domination in 2008, spawning further hits such as «When I Grow Up» and «I Hate This Part» before going on hiatus in 2009 following the Doll Domination Tour.

Nicole Scherzinger emerged as the group's most visible member and went on to a successful solo career. The Pussycat Dolls have periodically reunited for performances and new material in the years since, and remain remembered as one of the best-selling girl groups of the 2000s, influential for merging dance-heavy pop with a distinctly cabaret-inspired stage aesthetic.
