The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir

The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir is the music ministry of the Brooklyn Tabernacle church in New York City, directed for decades by Carol Cymbala. Since its founding in the early 1970s the group grew from a handful of untrained singers into a massive, racially and stylistically diverse ensemble of hundreds of voices, reflecting the congregation of one of America's best-known urban churches.

Musically the choir blends traditional Black gospel with contemporary worship and orchestral arrangements, favoring big dynamic builds, call-and-response, and testimony-driven lyrics rooted in scripture. Songs such as «Order My Steps», «Praise Him», and «He Reigns Forever» showcase soloists rising out of massed choral harmony, a hallmark of the group's live-recording approach.

The choir has released numerous live albums that capture the energy of Sunday services and revival-style concerts, earning multiple Grammy and Dove Awards along the way and becoming one of the most influential and widely heard gospel choirs of the modern era, touring internationally and inspiring church choirs worldwide.
