The Avener

The Avener is the stage name of Tristan Casara, a French DJ and producer known for pioneering a deep house style built around reworking older folk, blues and pop recordings into slow-burning electronic tracks. His breakthrough came with «Fade Out Lines», a deep house remix of Phoebe Killdeer's song that became a European club and radio smash, blending a soulful vocal sample with a warm, minimal beat.

The success of «Fade Out Lines» established a template he continued to explore: taking vintage or acoustic-leaning vocal performances and rebuilding them with understated house grooves, tasteful basslines and space rather than maximalist drops. His debut album The Wanderings of the Avener followed this approach, mixing original productions with rework-style tracks such as «Castle in the Snow» and «To Let Myself Go».

The Avener's music sits at the melodic, radio-friendly end of deep house, closer to artists like Kygo or Robin Schulz in accessibility while keeping a more organic, sample-driven texture. His work helped bring deep house reworks to mainstream European pop and dance charts in the mid-2010s, and tracks like «I Need a Good One» and «You Belong» continued his approach of pairing soulful vocals with restrained, groove-focused production.
