thasup, born Davide Mattei in 2001 in Fiumicino, Italy, is an Italian rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer who first made his name behind the boards before stepping into the spotlight as a performer. The son of a gospel singer and younger brother of singer-songwriter Mara Sattei, for whom he produces, he began experimenting with beats as a preteen and by his mid-teens was producing tracks for other artists.

His early production credits, including work for Dani Faiv, Salmo, and Nitro, connected him closely with the Machete label and collective, which later released his own music under the name tha Supreme before he shortened it to thasup. His solo singles, including «6itch» and the breakout «scuol4», established a distinctive style built on glitchy, hyperpop-inflected trap production paired with a deliberately lo-fi, internet-native aesthetic that felt fresh within Italian rap.

As both producer and performer, thasup represents a generation of Italian hip-hop artists shaped as much by internet music culture and experimental sound design as by traditional rap. His stylized song titles and abrasive, playful production continue to set him apart in the contemporary Italian rap and trap landscape.
