Spice Girls

Spice Girls were a British girl group formed in 1994 that became one of the defining pop phenomena of the 1990s. The lineup consisted of Mel B (Scary Spice), Mel C (Sporty Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), each cultivating a distinct public persona that helped the group connect with a wide, largely young audience worldwide.

Their 1996 debut single «Wannabe» became a global smash and their calling card, propelling the accompanying album Spice to massive international sales and turning the group into a cultural phenomenon often likened to Beatlemania. Follow-up hits like «Say You'll Be There», «2 Become 1», «Who Do You Think You Are», and «Spice Up Your Life» reinforced their dominance of pop charts, blending catchy melodies, R&B-inflected production, and an empowerment-driven message the group branded «Girl Power».

After a third studio album, Forever, which departed from their earlier sound and met a cooler reception, the group effectively disbanded by the end of the decade, though they have periodically reunited for tours and performances, retaining enduring popularity decades after their debut.
