Spice, born Grace Latoya Hamilton, is a Jamaican dancehall deejay known for her bold, sexually explicit lyrics and commanding stage presence. She rose to prominence in the early 2000s, making a memorable debut at the Sting festival, and built her reputation through a string of provocative singles that pushed boundaries in dancehall culture. Her breakthrough collaboration with Vybz Kartel, «Romping Shop», crossed over onto the Billboard R&B charts and received heavy rotation on major American urban radio stations, helping introduce her to audiences far beyond Jamaica.
