Sơn Tùng M-TP

Sơn Tùng M-TP, born Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, is a Vietnamese singer, rapper, producer and actor widely regarded as the defining figure of modern Vietnamese pop music. Raised in Thái Bình Province, he showed musical talent from early childhood and began writing songs as a teenager after getting access to a home computer. He founded his own company, M-TP Entertainment, to control the production and direction of his music and image.

His sound blends R&B, trap and Vietnamese pop melodies, often layered with lyrics that draw on Vietnamese folk imagery and traditional instrumentation alongside contemporary hip-hop and electronic production. Songs such as «Lạc Trôi», «Chạy Ngay Đi» and «Nơi Này Có Anh» became cultural phenomena in Vietnam, each breaking streaming and viewership records and cementing his reputation as an artist capable of merging local identity with global pop trends.

Sơn Tùng M-TP has been a key figure in pushing Vietnamese music toward international audiences, notably collaborating with Snoop Dogg on «Hãy Trao Cho Anh» in 2019. His releases are typically treated as major cultural events in Vietnam, generating extensive media coverage and fan anticipation.
