Snakehips

Snakehips is a British electronic and R&B production duo formed by Oliver Lee and James Carter, who met in Hong Kong in 2012 before returning to the UK to work together in the studio. Blending sultry, minimalist R&B production with pop and hip-hop sensibilities, the duo built a signature sound around sparse beats, sensual vocal hooks, and guest features from a wide range of vocalists and rappers.

The pair broke through in late 2015 and early 2016 with «All My Friends», featuring Tinashe and Chance the Rapper, which climbed into the UK Top 5 and crossed over onto US R&B/Hip-Hop charts. They followed it with «Don’t Leave» alongside MØ, a track that racked up well over a hundred million streams and cemented their reputation as go-to collaborators for pop and R&B crossover singles.

Since then, Snakehips have continued working with high-profile artists including Zayn, Anderson .Paak, and Joey Bada$$, positioning themselves within the wave of producer-led acts — alongside names like Disclosure and Rudimental — who turned dance-adjacent production into radio-friendly pop hits. Their catalogue favors mood and texture over bombast, making them a fixture of late-night, chart-adjacent electronic R&B.
