Slayyyter

Slayyyter, born Catherine Grace Garner in St. Louis, Missouri, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer who emerged from the SoundCloud and hyperpop-adjacent underground of the late 2010s. She began writing and producing lo-fi, 80s-influenced pop songs during her school years before gaining attention with her 2018 debut single «BFF», a collaboration with Ayesha Erotica, and building a cult following through DIY aesthetics and unapologetically maximalist, hyper-glossy pop.

Her self-titled mixtape, released in 2019, established her voice within the hyperpop and bubblegum-bass scenes, blending sugary hooks with explicit, camp-inflected lyrics. She has frequently collaborated with artists including Ayesha Erotica, Charli XCX, That Kid, and BOY SIM, aligning her with a broader wave of internet-born pop artists redefining the genre outside major-label systems.

Her 2021 debut studio album, Troubled Paradise, marked a stylistic expansion into dance-pop, mixing hyperpop energy with more polished, disco- and 2000s-pop-informed production. Slayyyter has emphasized a self-directed, DIY approach to her career, writing and shaping her songs largely with close collaborators while maintaining creative control, part of what has made her a distinctive figure in contemporary internet pop.
