SIX Cast

SIX is a British musical created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, reimagining the six wives of King Henry VIII as a girl-group pop concert. Each queen gets a solo number styled after a different contemporary pop star, turning a familiar slice of Tudor history into an arena-ready spectacle of glitter, mic drops, and empowerment anthems. The show began life at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017 before transferring to an Off-West End run, a UK tour, and eventually the West End, with a parallel path to Broadway.

The SIX Cast recordings capture that concert format on record, blending pop, R&B, rock, and electronic production into songs like «Ex-Wives», «Don’t Lose Ur Head», and «Six». The music leans on hooky choruses, belt-heavy vocals, and genre pastiche, referencing everything from Beyoncé-style R&B to Avril Lavigne-esque pop-rock, while the lyrics reframe the queens as narrators of their own stories rather than footnotes in a king’s biography.

Since its Fringe debut, SIX has been staged with multiple casts across the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and North America, each production recording its own cast album. Songs such as «Haus of Holbein», «Get Down», and «All You Wanna Do» have become fan favourites, and the show is widely credited with bringing musical-theatre songwriting closer to mainstream pop charts and streaming playlists.
