Sigrid

Sigrid, born Sigrid Solbakk Raabe in 1996 in Ålesund, Norway, is a Norwegian singer-songwriter known for blending pop hooks with an unpolished, emotionally direct vocal style. Raised in a musical family, she picked up guitar and piano early and cites Joni Mitchell and Neil Young among her influences. She released her debut single «Sun» in 2013, co-written with her brother Tellef Raabe, which became a breakout hit on Norwegian radio.

After signing with Island Records, Sigrid released «Don't Kill My Vibe» in 2017, an assertive anthem about being underestimated that became her international breakthrough and led the EP of the same name. The track's blunt honesty and anthemic chorus captured critical attention, and she was named winner of the BBC's «Sound of...» poll in 2018, cementing her status as one of pop's most promising new voices.
