SHAMAN

SHAMAN is the stage name of Yaroslav Dronov, a Russian singer, songwriter, and composer born in 1991 in Novomoskovsk. He first gained public attention through Russian television talent competitions, including the show «Factor A» and later «The Voice», where his blind audition turned two coaches and he joined the team of singer Pelageya, finishing as runner-up. He went on to front the cover band Chas Pik for several years before leaving to focus on original material.

In 2020 Dronov launched his solo project under the name SHAMAN, a persona he has described as tapping into a more elemental, stage-driven side of himself that felt better suited to a pseudonym than his given name. He writes his own lyrics, composes his own music, and produces his own arrangements, giving his catalogue a distinctly personal and unified authorial stamp across pop and rock-leaning material.

SHAMAN's songs, including «Я русский», «Моя Россия», and «Встанем», are built around large, anthemic pop-rock arrangements paired with a powerful, classically trained vocal delivery, reflecting his conservatory-level musical education. His work has made him one of the most visible and widely discussed pop performers on the contemporary Russian music scene.
