About the artist
SEVENTEEN is a thirteen-member South Korean group formed by Pledis Entertainment, who debuted in May 2015 with the mini-album 17 Carat and its lead single «아낀다 (Adore U)». What distinguishes the group is its self-producing model: members are deeply involved in writing, composing and choreographing their own material, organized into three specialized subunits — a hip-hop unit, a vocal unit and a performance unit — that each bring a distinct creative approach while still functioning as one act.
This structure gives their discography unusual range, moving fluidly between sharp hip-hop and rap tracks, richly arranged pop-R&B vocal numbers, and high-energy performance-driven singles, often within the same release. Songs like «울고 싶지 않아 (Don't Wanna Cry)», «박수 (Clap)» and «손오공 (Super)» highlight their intricate, tightly synchronized choreography, which has become a signature alongside their vocal and rap interplay.
Over the following decade SEVENTEEN grew into one of the most commercially and critically successful acts in K-pop, earning numerous major domestic awards and charting internationally, including strong performances on the US Billboard charts with releases such as Attacca.
