Sean Paul

Sean Paul, born Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques on January 9, 1973, in Kingston, Jamaica, is one of the most recognizable ambassadors of dancehall music worldwide. He emerged in the late 1990s and broke through internationally with his 2002 album Dutty Rock, which produced global hits like «Get Busy» and «Gimme the Light» and helped bring dancehall rhythms into mainstream pop and hip-hop. His raspy, rapid-fire deejay style combined with infectious dancehall riddims made him a fixture of radio and clubs throughout the 2000s.

Sean Paul followed that success with The Trinity in 2005, featuring «Temperature», which topped the Billboard Hot 100, and later albums including Imperial Blaze and Tomahawk Technique. Beyond his solo work, he became known for high-profile collaborations, most notably «Baby Boy» with Beyoncé, as well as features with artists across pop, R&B, and reggaeton, cementing his role as a cross-genre connector for Caribbean music.
