Sasha Alex Sloan

Sasha Alex Sloan (born March 11, 1995) is an American singer-songwriter who built her career first behind the scenes as a Warner Chappell staff writer before stepping into her own recording career. Raised in the Boston area, she studied briefly at Berklee College of Music before relocating to Los Angeles in 2014, where she co-wrote songs for artists including Charli XCX («Track 10») and Camila Cabello («Never Be the Same»), and contributed vocals to Kygo's «This Town» and Odesza's «Falls».

She released her debut single «Ready Yet» in October 2017, followed by the EP sad girl in 2018, establishing a songwriting persona built around confessional, plainly stated lyrics about anxiety, heartbreak and family tension set against minimal, mid-tempo pop-electronic production. A second EP, Loser, arrived later that year, cementing her reputation for candid, diary-like songwriting delivered in an understated, conversational vocal style.

Sloan's catalogue, including songs such as «Older», «Normal», «Dancing with Your Ghost» and «Runaway», sits at the intersection of pop, R&B and folk-inflected songwriting, often compared to confessional singer-songwriters of the streaming era.
