PSY

PSY, born Park Jae-sang, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, rapper and producer known for blending irreverent comedy with sharp pop and dance production. Long before his global breakout he was already a fixture in Korean pop culture, celebrated for satirical lyrics and flamboyant stage antics that set him apart from the polished K-pop mainstream.

His 2012 single «Gangnam Style» became a worldwide phenomenon, driven by its horse-riding dance and became the first YouTube video to pass one billion views, eventually surpassing four billion. The song's success made PSY one of the most recognized Korean artists internationally and led to appearances and collaborations with major Western stars, while later singles such as «Gentleman» and «Daddy» built on that momentum with the same mix of humor, EDM-influenced beats and catchy hooks.

In 2013 he was named an official tourism ambassador for South Korea, and he later founded the label P-Nation, home to artists including HyunA, Jessi and Dawn. PSY remains a singular figure in K-pop history, respected both as a hitmaker and as an entertainer who helped introduce Korean pop culture to a mass global audience.
