PRETTYMUCH

PRETTYMUCH was an American-Canadian boy band assembled in 2016 under the guidance of music mogul Simon Cowell and formally introduced to the public in early 2017. The group consisted of Austin Porter, Brandon Arreaga, Edwin Honoret, Nick Mara and Zion Kuwonu, five young performers brought together for their vocal and dance abilities in the tradition of manufactured pop groups. Their debut single «Would You Mind» launched their career in 2017 and set the tone for a sound built on smooth pop and R&B melodies layered with contemporary production.

The group quickly built a following with singles like «Open Arms» and «No More», the latter featuring rapper French Montana, showcasing an ability to blend radio-friendly pop hooks with R&B and light trap influences. Their momentum continued into 2018 with «10,000 Hours» and the release of their debut EP, PRETTYMUCH An EP, which introduced fan favorites and further defined their youthful, romantic lyrical style aimed at a young, streaming-native audience.

A key moment in their catalog was «Summer on You», co-written with input from Ed Sheeran, which highlighted the group’s pop songwriting pedigree. PRETTYMUCH continued releasing music and touring for several years before Nick Mara’s amicable departure in 2022. The group occupied a notable place in the resurgence of American boy-band pop in the late 2010s, alongside acts navigating a similar post-One Direction pop landscape.
