Piyush Mishra is an Indian actor, singer, lyricist, music composer, and screenwriter whose career spans both Bollywood cinema and Hindi theatre. He trained at the National School of Drama in Delhi and built his early reputation on stage before moving into film work as an actor, writer, and composer. His gravelly, theatrical singing voice and poetic Hindi lyrics give his songs a distinctly literary, stage-inflected character that sets him apart from mainstream playback singers.

Mishra became widely known to film audiences through his acting roles in Gulaal, Gangs of Wasseypur, Tamasha, and Maqbool, but his musical contributions are equally significant.
