Ozuna, born Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1992, rose from the reggaetón underground to become one of the genre's biggest global stars in the late 2010s. He began releasing music online in the early 2010s and broke through with features and singles that spread rapidly across Latin radio and streaming platforms, building a signature style built on melodic, sung-rap verses over urbano and trap-influenced production.

His breakout came through collaborations like «La Ocasión» and remixes such as «No Quiere Enamorarse» alongside major reggaetón figures, followed by his own hits including «Se Preparó» and «El Farsante», the latter reaching massive popularity in its remix with Romeo Santos. His debut studio album, released in 2017, helped cement urbano and Latin trap as dominant global genres.

Ozuna's music blends Pop, R&B, and Electronic elements with reggaetón's rhythmic core, and his catalog includes some of the most-streamed Latin songs of the era, such as «Vaina Loca» and «Amor Genuino». Known for romantic, often tender lyrics about love and family, he became one of the most-streamed artists worldwide, helping push Latin urban music firmly into the international mainstream.
