About the artist

Óscar Maydon is a Mexican singer and songwriter from Mexicali, Baja California, part of the wave of artists who brought corridos tumbados and regional Mexican music into mainstream pop and rap territory during the early 2020s. Signed to Rancho Humilde, the label that became a hub for this new generation of corrido artists, he built his following with a sound that blends traditional Mexican instrumentation with trap-influenced rhythms, autotune textures and lyrics oriented toward street narratives, luxury and heartbreak.

His breakthrough on the international stage came with «Fin de Semana», a duet with Junior H released in January 2023, which entered the US Billboard Hot 100 and marked his first appearance on that chart. The song exemplified the genre-blending approach that has defined his catalogue, sitting between corridos, pop and rap sensibilities.

Maydon has released two studio albums, GXLE <3 and Distorsión, the latter featuring collaborations with prominent names in the movimiento like Natanael Cano and Gabito Ballesteros. His music continues to reflect the fusion of regional Mexican roots with contemporary urban production that has come to define this generation of artists.
