Oh Wonder

Oh Wonder is a London-based duo formed by songwriters Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West, who met in 2011 and spent several years writing songs together for other artists before launching their own project. Inspired in part by artists like James Blake and Sigur Rós, they conceived Oh Wonder during a trip to Amsterdam, adopting a distinctive release strategy in September 2014: putting out one new song on the first of every month for a full year, building a devoted online following before their self-titled debut album arrived in 2015.

Their music blends dreamy electronic pop with R&B-inflected vocal interplay, built around the intertwined male-female harmonies of West and Vander Gucht, minimalist beats, and intimate, confessional lyrics. Songs like «All We Do», «Without You», and «Lose It» established their sound as both delicate and rhythmically propulsive, while later singles such as «Ultralife» and «Technicolour Beat» pushed toward brighter, more anthemic pop songwriting.

Oh Wonder have built their career around a close creative partnership, writing, producing, and often self-recording much of their material together, and have toured extensively worldwide. Their approach — treating songwriting and release as an ongoing, almost diaristic exercise — has made them a distinctive presence in the modern electronic-pop landscape, admired for their tight vocal chemistry and atmospheric production.
