*NSYNC is an American boy band formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995, consisting of Justin Timberlake, J.C. Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass. The group first launched in Germany before breaking through in the United States, quickly becoming one of the defining acts of the late-1990s teen-pop boom alongside contemporaries like Backstreet Boys. Their harmonized vocals, choreographed performances and radio-friendly pop-R&B sound, built on hits like «Tearin' Up My Heart» and «I Want You Back», made them a global phenomenon.

After a highly publicized legal dispute with former manager Lou Pearlman and Sony BMG, the group released «No Strings Attached» in 2000, an album that sold over a million copies in its first day and set new industry sales records. Follow-up singles such as «It's Gonna Be Me», «Bye Bye Bye», «Pop» and «Gone» showcased a more mature sound blending pop, R&B and electronic influences, while the group collaborated with artists including Michael Jackson, Céline Dion, Stevie Wonder and Gloria Estefan, and performed at major events like the Super Bowl and the Olympics.

*NSYNC went on hiatus in 2002 and never formally reunited for new music, though the members pursued notable solo careers, most prominently Justin Timberlake. The group has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and remains one of the best-selling boy bands in history, with a brief reunion appearance in 2023 reigniting interest in their legacy.
