Novo Amor

Novo Amor is the recording name of Ali John Meredith-Lacey, a Welsh multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter known for atmospheric, folk-inflected indie music. He gained wider recognition following his 2014 debut EP «Woodgate, NY», and has since built a following for hushed, richly layered songs that blend acoustic textures with ambient electronic production.

His sound is defined by falsetto vocals, sparse instrumentation, and a strong sense of space, often evoking melancholy and intimacy. Novo Amor has frequently collaborated with fellow songwriter Ed Tullett, and tracks such as «Anchor», «Carry You» and «State Lines» exemplify his cinematic, slow-building approach to songwriting.

The name Novo Amor, meaning New Love in Latin, Galician and Portuguese, reflects a personal turning point: Lacey has said he adopted it after a breakup in 2012 that led him toward music as a new creative outlet. His work has found a home in film and television placements, further extending his reach beyond the traditional folk and indie circuits.
